Webmaster

Joe Thompson is the Oka Kapassa webmaster, Facebook page administrator, and official photographer. Joe is a graduate of Coffee High School, Auburn University, and George Washington University, where he earned a Master of Science degree in Computer Science. After a long career as a computer programmer, software manager, and software engineer with several large computer and aerospace corporations, he retired to keep bees in Sussex, but came out of retirement in 2013 to create the Oka Kapassa Facebook page and to take over as webmaster. He first worked as a volunteer at Oka Kapassa in 2005 and has been involved ever since. He usually earns the award for "longest distance traveled to volunteer", since he currently makes his home in mid-Maryland.
